A rare case report from Nepal Mediciti Hospital discusses neonatal liver abscess, a rare condition with a high mortality rate. The case study presents a patient who presented with abdominal distension and vomiting, and was diagnosed with a solitary liver abscess using ultrasonography and computed tomography. The patient was treated with antibiotics and the size of the abscess decreased. The study emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications. Neonatal liver abscess is frequently overlooked due to its rarity, so it should be considered in the differential diagnosis for neonates with similar symptoms. [Extracted from the article] |
