A recent study conducted by Heidelberg University in Germany explored the attitudes towards dreams and their potential benefits. The study found that participants had varying attitudes towards dreams, with some viewing them as random nonsense and others believing they could be beneficial. The researchers also discovered that individuals with more openness to experiences, as well as those experiencing current psychopathology and worries, tended to have more positive attitudes towards dreams. The study suggests that further research, particularly longitudinal studies, could validate the idea that dreams can have beneficial effects, potentially leading to the inclusion of dream work in psychotherapy practice.
