A report from Hangzhou Normal University in Zhejiang, China, discusses the potential benefits of saffron (Crocus sativus) in treating neurological and psychiatric disorders. The researchers conducted a systematic review of clinical trials and found that saffron was more effective than a placebo in improving cognition, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. It was also found to be non-inferior to conventional drugs for treating cognitive disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and OCD, with few side effects. The study suggests that saffron may be a relatively safe and favorable treatment option for these conditions. [Extracted from the article] |
