Abstrakt: This article explores the impact of antenatal corticosteroids on the daily fetal movement count (DFMC) in pregnant women. The study reveals that the use of dexamethasone temporarily reduces DFMC, which may resemble fetal distress. However, the DFMC returns to normal levels within 4-7 days of receiving dexamethasone. The researchers recommend that healthcare providers be aware of this phenomenon to avoid unnecessary premature births. They also suggest using Doppler studies and biophysical profiles alongside DFMC in high-risk pregnancies that have undergone corticosteroid therapy to monitor fetal well-being.
