The article discusses the role of Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) Verification Services (VS) veterinarians in conducting ante mortem inspections on animals processed in New Zealand's meat export processing premises. It highlights veterinarians' key role in identifying and addressing animal welfare issues throughout the slaughter process, paying specific attention to improving welfare outcomes for bobby calves and cull dairy cows. |
