This article discusses the need for coordinated specialty care for patients who have or have had the potential to menstruate or become pregnant, and who also have disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis. The article focuses on the benefits, challenges, and opportunities associated with offering focused hematologic and gynecologic/obstetric care for patients across the lifespan. The authors describe their own program, which includes adult hematology-only clinics for female individuals, combined hematology/gynecology clinics for adolescents and adults, and combined hematology/perinatology clinics. The article also discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on clinic processes and the lessons learned from their experience.
