Abstrakt: Background: The study of cupping is considered one of the challenges of sustainable development, Cupping has been used to treat many diseases and problems that humans have been exposed to since ancient times including general physical maladies, pain-related diseases, and mental health. aim: this study aimed to assess the efficacy of cupping therapy in the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in the Najaf Governorate. method: the study was carried out in private cupping facilities of AL Najaf governorate. the study included 38 samples of rheumatoid arthritis patients who were receiving cupping, their ages (30-60) years, and 22 samples from healthy people as a control group. Method: blood samples were collected from RA patients before and after 10 days of cupping and their RF levels were evaluated. Result: The level of rheumatoid factor before cupping was 52 IU/ml and after cupping 47 IU/ml in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, while the level of rheumatoid factor in healthy subjects was 5 IU/ml. The results of post-cupping showed a significant decrease in RF inflammatory markers (p<0.0378), while there was a higher significant difference compared to the RF results of the control samples (p<0.0001) with no negative effects after cupping. conclusion: the current study explained that cupping therapy has a curative effect on RA disease by decreasing the level of RF. That is, the use of cupping may reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
