ProPublica, an investigative journalism organization, is conducting an investigation into the accessibility of mental health care in the United States. They are seeking insights from mental health providers, health insurance insiders, and patients to understand the challenges and issues within the mental health care system. Some common problems identified so far include difficulty finding available providers, insurance companies refusing to cover necessary care, and misdiagnosis of patients, particularly women and people of color. ProPublica aims to gather perspectives from those who have firsthand knowledge of the mental health care system in order to identify themes and patterns.
