Abstrakt: Public institutions are higher education institutions funded by the government under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Any faculty must maximize the use of their time and resources in order to meet the goal with the least amount of waste. If the organizations can achieve that, the government could allocate the expenses and resources for other developments for this country. This work deals with academic faculties which are not using existing data as a reference to determine the degree of abnormal observation. There are no evaluation methods available to estimate the intensity of an abnormal observation. When an academic faculty fails to optimise the elements that lead to the problem, they may generate a lot of waste. The goal of this study is to use the Mahalanobis Taguchi System (MTS) to quantify the degree of abnormality and to identify the parameters that impact the system. MTS is a technique for discovering or recognising patterns in decision making. The primary principle of MTS is to select a set of variables and apply Mahalanobis Distance to optimise the aspects that contribute to the problem. This work considered annual Key Performance Indicator Analysis data of 2020 from Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology for lecturers in grade DS51/52 with a case of 8 main parameters. The degree of abnormality was effectively assessed using the MTS technique according to the findings. Thus resulted in the conclusion that MTS is a valuable tool for categorization and optimization in the industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
