Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at University Hospital Regensburg in Germany compared the health and well-being of 39 female patients with lipedema to a control group. The study found that patients with lipedema had lower rates of hypertension and high blood lipids, but reported lower overall health ratings, higher levels of depression, and more pain-related disability in daily activities. The study suggests the need for a lipedema-specific questionnaire and a multidisciplinary treatment approach that includes physical therapies, lifestyle adjustments, and psychological strategies.
