Abstrakt: The article titled "A theory of Ln grammars: One size fits all?" discusses the debate surrounding the theoretical models of grammar and their applicability to bilingual and multilingual speakers. The authors argue that exoskeletal models of grammar, which separate syntax and morphology, can explain bilingual data without the need for additional constraints proposed in the Feature Reassembly (FR) view. They also discuss the Null Theory approach, which suggests that the same kind of theory can account for both monolingual and bilingual grammars. However, the article raises questions about the feasibility of this approach and emphasizes the importance of considering the variability and complexity of bilingual language acquisition. The authors conclude by highlighting the need for a proper treatment of both first-order and second-order constraints in modeling bilingual grammars and the role of bilingual data in shaping theories of grammar.
