Researchers at Henan University in Luoyang, China have developed a new prognostic model for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) using the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) algorithm and a Cloud model. The study analyzed data from 4,771 ESCC patients in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and 635 ESCC patients in the Henan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDC) database. The new model demonstrated higher accuracy compared to other models, such as random forest and nomogram. The research provides valuable insights for improving the prognosis of ESCC patients.
