A study conducted at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, examined the impact of transitioning to single-occupancy patient rooms (SPRs) on the incidence and outcomes of in-hospital cardiac arrests (IHCA). The study found that there was no significant difference in the incidence, survival rates, and neurological outcomes of IHCA before and after the transition to SPRs. The researchers concluded that the transition to a 100% SPR hospital did not have a negative impact on IHCA. This information is available in the HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal.
