Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by investigators at Saitama Medical University in Japan examined the electroretinographic (ERG) changes in patients with glaucoma following filtration surgery. The study found that the presence of choroidal detachment (CD) after surgery was associated with a deterioration in the retinal ganglion cell function. However, in patients without CD, the ERG components showed significant improvement after surgery. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the recovery process and the role of CD in glaucoma surgery. The study was funded by various organizations and has been peer-reviewed.
