A recent report from the University of North Carolina discusses research findings on the link between high fat consumption and elevated blood pressure. The study found that high fat consumption in mice leads to the accumulation of lipid droplets in endothelial cells, which suppresses the production of nitric oxide and increases blood pressure. The researchers also discovered that preventing lipid droplet formation can reverse the suppression of nitric oxide production and reduce blood pressure elevation. These findings provide insight into the mechanistic link between obesity and elevated blood pressure. [Extracted from the article] |
