A recent study conducted by Universidad Internacional in Valencia, Spain, examined the comprehension of grammatical structures in a pediatric population with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and epilepsy. The study found that individuals with ASD and epilepsy performed worse in auditory comprehension compared to those with only ASD or epilepsy. The research suggests that the neurological damage caused by epilepsy in children with ASD leads to difficulties in understanding oral language, negatively impacting their linguistic performance and quality of life. The study highlights the importance of addressing language impairments in this population to improve their overall development. [Extracted from the article] |
