A new report discusses research on lymphadenitis, specifically focusing on the diagnostic accuracy of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) in detecting tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis. The study was conducted at the Department of ENT at Dr. Ruth K. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, and included patients between the ages of 30-70 with cervical lymphadenopathy lasting for at least 3 months. The study found that FNAC plays a significant role in diagnosing tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis, with a sensitivity of 97% and specificity of 72.2%.
