Abstrakt: A recent report from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria explores the impact of plant-derived food grade substances (PDFGS) on metal-induced neurodegeneration. The study reviews the mechanisms by which PDFGS can attenuate metal-induced neurotoxicity and neurodegeneration. The research highlights the potential of natural dietary and plant products in treating neurological disorders. The findings suggest that a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in metal-induced neurotoxicity and the neuroprotective effects of PDFGS could lead to the development of therapeutic interventions for the prevention and alleviation of neurodegenerative conditions.
