In this empirical study, we investigated the approaches employed by students at different educational levels (in 'bachelor's, 'master's, and doctoral programs) in Russian universities when tackling tasks related to scientific information search and retrieval. The survey was conducted during the period of April to May 2023, with a total sample of 612 participants. Our findings suggest that while discernible progress is observed as students advance to higher academic levels, the overall level of scientific literacy, particularly in the investigated aspects, remains notably limited. This outcome indicates the potential influence of insufficient systematic education on the development of essential scientific literacy skills among Russian students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
