A recent report discusses the rare occurrence of schwannoma, a type of tumor, in the small intestine. The study describes a case of a large ileal schwannoma found in a patient with a pelvic mass. The tumor was successfully managed through surgical resection, and a histopathology study confirmed the diagnosis. The researchers emphasize the importance of thorough histology and immunohistochemical analysis to accurately diagnose intestinal schwannomas and rule out malignancy. This case represents one of the largest reported intestinal schwannomas in the current literature. [Extracted from the article] |
