A new study conducted by researchers at the Institut fur Diabetes-Technologie in Ulm, Germany, investigated the effect of 70 potential interferents on the measurement results of two blood glucose monitoring systems. The study found that both systems were robust and met the acceptance criteria for 69 of the 70 potential interferents. The only interference effect observed was for N-Acetyl-L-cysteine. The researchers concluded that extensive evaluations of potential interfering factors are important to ensure the reliability of blood glucose monitoring systems. [Extracted from the article] |
