A study conducted at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia aimed to determine the biosocial predictors associated with achieving target blood pressure (BP) in postmenopausal women with hypertension. The study found that half of the hypertensive postmenopausal women did not achieve their BP goals. Factors such as level of education, employment status, body mass index (BMI), number of children, age at menarche, age at menopause, and number of co-morbidities did not show a significant relationship with BP goal attainment, except for age at menarche. The researchers concluded that interventions are needed to improve hypertension control and increase awareness of the condition. [Extracted from the article] |
