A recent study conducted by Andalas University in Padang, Indonesia, investigated the effectiveness of Andaliman fruit extract in alleviating hyperglycemia, sensory and motoric balance disorders, histopathology of the cerebellum, and tissue oxidative stress in diabetic mice induced by alloxan. The study found that higher doses of Andaliman fruit extract significantly reduced blood glucose levels, improved paw sensitivity and motoric balance in diabetic mice. Additionally, the extract attenuated the degeneration of cerebellar Purkinje cells and reduced oxidative stress in the peripheral system. These findings suggest that Andaliman extract shows promise as an herbal remedy for the detrimental outcomes of diabetes mellitus. [Extracted from the article] |
