Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by the University of Illinois College of Medicine examined the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on symptom and performance validity tests among a multiracial sample of adults seeking evaluation for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study found that individuals with high ACE exposure were more likely to have higher scores on symptom validity tests assessing over-reporting and infrequent responses, but ACE exposure did not affect performance validity test performance. These findings suggest that ACE exposure should be taken into consideration when evaluating symptom validity test performance in the context of ADHD evaluations. Further research is needed to understand the factors that contribute to different patterns of symptom reporting based on ACE exposure. [Extracted from the article] |
