Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from St. George's University of London examined the association between ethnicity, sex, and clinical presentations in individuals with apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (ApHCM). The study included 150 consecutive ApHCM patients from a large tertiary referral center in the United Kingdom. The findings revealed that females with ApHCM tend to present at an older age and have less prominent electrocardiogram (ECG) changes compared to males. Additionally, Black patients were more likely to have higher left ventricular mass index and hypertension, while White, Asian, and non-hypertensive males tended to have hypertrophy limited to the apex. This research provides valuable insights into the differences in clinical presentations of ApHCM based on ethnicity and sex. [Extracted from the article]
