Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Washington has explored the role of macrophage receptor with collagenous structure (MARCO) and toll-like receptors (TLRs) in promoting healing in tissue engineering. The researchers found that there is a synergistic relationship between MARCO and TLR signaling in cells inhabiting porous precision-templated scaffolds (PTS). The study also revealed that MARCO is required to attenuate inflammation and regulate the transcription of certain genes involved in the healing process. These findings contribute to our understanding of the foreign body reaction (FBR) and suggest a potential connection between MARCO, TLRs, and tissue fibrosis. [Extracted from the article]
