The book "Disability, Media, and Representations: Other Bodies" is an interdisciplinary exploration of disability studies and media. It challenges ableist culture and aims to broaden the understanding of disability by analyzing how media platforms can either challenge or reinforce negative stereotypes. The book examines the role of the media in further disabling individuals through a lack of inclusivity and adaptability. It also highlights the need for a broader scope of disability paradigms and suggests further engagement with psychoanalytic theory in the field. [Extracted from the article] |
