Abstrakt: The article discusses a workshop on postcolonial digital humanities (DH) led by Alex Gil Fuentes of Yale University. The workshop explored how DH can be used to fight against totalitarian regimes, contest historical silences, and address inhumane immigration policies. Gil emphasized the importance of considering the ethical implications of designing digital archives and the role of networks in collaborative DH projects. The text also mentions various projects, such as the Torn Apart/ Separados project, the Slave Voyages project, and the (Un) Silencing Slavery project, that aim to challenge dominant narratives and give voice to marginalized communities. The workshop at Binghamton University showcased projects that visualized the stories of enslaved individuals, studied financial relationships in colonial Latin America, created a digital repository for the punk community, and used StoryMaps to study Chinese asylees. Overall, the workshop highlighted the potential of digital humanities for transformative storytelling and social justice. [Extracted from the article]
