Abstrakt: Reviews the book Psyche unbound: Essays in honor of Stanislav Grof edited by R. Tarnas and S. Kelly (2022). The volume's organization is informed by the fact that its chapters not only reflect upon a wide range of highly disciplined and interdisciplinary transpersonal knowing, inquiry, and applications, but also, and importantly so, link together a memorable penned recognition of Grof's paradigm-shifting work that began half a century ago. The 19 chapters are thoughtfully arranged as three thematically clustered sections. Section I: Early Witnesses and Allies (pp. 3-117) opens the volume, offering essays by Joseph Campbell, Huston Smith, Frances Vaughan, Ralph Metzner, Fritjof Capra, and Richard Tarnas. Section II: Psychotherapy and Consciousness Research (pp. 121-244) contains essays by Jenny Wade, Gregg Lahood, Paul Grof and Arlene Fox, William Keepin, Christopher M. Bache, Michael Mithoefer, and Charles Grob. Sections III: Comparative and Theoretical Studies (pp. 247-365) features essays by Sean Kelly, John Buchanan, Ervin Laszlo, Thomas Purton, Thomas J. Riedlinger, and Jorge N. Ferrer. As a transpersonal psychologist and a spiritual being, the reviewer recommends this Festschrift to anyone who is willing to peek or to gaze at the expanded landscapes of the cosmic and the human psyche--psyche unbound--and to witness and contemplate their domains, mysteries, and sublime offerings-possibilities.
