In order to prepare bacteriostic and heating function viscose fiber, gingerol viscose fiber was prepared by microcapsules coated with β-cyclodextrin, then microcapsules were added to the viscose spinning solution through pre-spinning blending and wet spinning. The structures and properties of gingerol viscose fiber and viscose fiber were characterized and analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy and single fiber strength meter, heating property of the knitted fabric were tested. The results showed that the median particle size D50 of the prepared gingerol viscose fiber was 0.599 μm and 90% particle size was below 1.293 μm. The microstructure was similar to that of viscose fiber, but the longitudinal grooves were increased. The benzene ring skeleton vibration peak of gingerol viscose fiber was different from that of viscose fiber near 1 450 cm-1. Compared with viscose fiber, the breaking elongation and dry & wet breaking tenacity of gingerol viscose fiber were decreased to a certain extent, but still meet the requirements of the first class standard. The antibacterial rate of gingerol viscose fiber knitted fabrics was reached AAA standard. The maximum temperature rise within 30 min after moisture absorption of the fabric was 11 °C, and the average temperature was 5.1 °C, which met the requirements of technical standards. Compared with viscose fiber, the temperature of gingerol viscose fiber knitted fabric was increased 0.8 °C and 1.4 °C respectively after 50 times and 100 times of friction, which had better heating function.
