Abstrakt: We each have a life's mission, a purpose, and a path. This article is an exploration of one woman's path and how she came to do the things she did. As a humanistic psychologist she has a great appreciation for potential and she has a great desire to help others actualize their potential. The article includes the transformative effect of a near-death experience while swimming at age 15, her life commitment in her early 20s to the development of humankind, the role of meditation and yoga in her life and the creation of Somatic Yoga, her contributions to the field of EEG and peripheral biofeedback training, becoming the founding director of the Humanistic Psychology Institute (now Saybrook University, Pasadena), her contributions to transpersonal psychology and parapsychology, her contributions to Yoga Therapy, her involvement in the field of humanistic psychology, her relationship with Thomas Hanna and the founding of the Novato Institute for Research and Training, her longtime practice as a somatic educator and psychotherapist, and the creation Equine Hanna Somatics and Canine Hanna Somatics, and her desire to help decrease the amount of trauma and suffering in the world during the remainder of her life.
