The article discusses the history and legacy of the Klüver-Bucy syndrome (KBS), a neuropsychiatric disorder associated with the bilateral removal of the temporal lobes. The syndrome was first described by Heinrich Klüver and Paul C. Bucy in 1937, although the clinical features were reported earlier by other researchers. The article provides information about the backgrounds of Klüver and Bucy, as well as the symptoms and etiology of KBS. It also mentions that the diagnosis of KBS is made based on its characteristic symptoms and that treatment options are limited. The prognosis for most individuals with KBS is poor, although there are exceptions. [Extracted from the article] |
