A study conducted by researchers at the Federal University of ABC-UFABC in Santo Andre, Brazil, explores the measurement of network polarization and political sectarianism on Twitter during the 2020 pandemic. The researchers used user interaction networks and Bayesian probability to analyze Twitter data from 33 politically conflicted events in Brazil. The study found that a small group of influential users, known as polarizers, can significantly impact the polarization and sectarianism of Twitter discussions. The research provides insights into understanding polarized conflicts on social media platforms. [Extracted from the article] |
