Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by researchers at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China, has found that high-density lipoprotein (HDL) subfractions can play a role in the development of atherosclerosis. The study used high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HRMRI) to analyze the relationship between HDL subfractions and plaque vulnerability in patients with intracranial atherosclerosis. The results showed that patients with symptomatic plaques had lower levels of HDL-2b compared to those with asymptomatic plaques. The study suggests that serum HDL-2b levels may serve as a biomarker for predicting vulnerability in intracranial atherosclerotic plaques. [Extracted from the article] |
