A new report discusses research findings on clinical medicine from the University of Siena in Italy. The study focuses on reverse septal movement (RSM), which occurs after cardiac surgery and involves a paradoxical systolic movement of the interventricular septum. The researchers aimed to investigate the determinants of RSM after coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). The study found that the length of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures was correlated with a higher incidence of RSM. This knowledge contributes to a better understanding of RSM and reinforces the safety of CABG. [Extracted from the article] |
