Researchers at the University of Alexandria in Egypt have developed a new nanophotocatalyst for the degradation of pharmaceutical pollutants in wastewater. The photocatalyst, made from ZnO-3%SrO-2CdS, demonstrated high efficiency in the degradation of antibiotics such as tetracycline. The study also investigated various parameters that affect the photocatalytic activity, such as pH, dosage, and water source. Additionally, the researchers conducted a hydroponics study to assess the phytotoxicity of the treated tetracycline solution, which showed successful germination of T. foenumgraecum seeds. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the development of efficient nanophotocatalysts for wastewater treatment. [Extracted from the article] |
