In the present work, the induced voltages in one of the two lines of an electrified railway highway are calculated in two modes of operation of the other line-short circuit and normal mode of operation. Solving the task of calculating the induced voltages is done using the modeling of the problem by the electromagnetic field theory. The use of the Finite Element Method to solve the differential equations of the electromagnetic field allows for the most accurate calculation of the induced voltages. For this purpose, the present work uses suitable professional Finite Element Analysis software. Induced voltages have dangerous values for personnel, which can lead to accidents when service personnel does not follow safety rules. In addition, the induced voltages can cause damage to equipment, and can also disrupt the normal operation of devices. The analysis of the electromagnetic field with professional software makes it possible to calculate the induced higher harmonics created by the normal operation of the power rectifiers in the locomotives.
