Abstrakt: In water-driven power plants, slurry erosion of hydro turbine components is a major problem globally, especially in those located in the Himalayan area of India. In the current study, Al2O3 and Cr2O3 coatings were coated on EN31 substrate material using a flame spray technique, and their slurry disintegration testing was performed while varying the settings of a specially designed and built slurry disintegration analyzer. The slurry disintegration tests were led by taking factors: SOD (15 mm and 20 mm) and slurry fixation (15000 ppm and 20000 ppm). The samples' reduced mass has been calculated, and SEM and EDS analysis has been performed on every sample. In addition, X-ray diffraction analysis has been performed on the sample under investigation (XRD). The analysis revealed that the Al2O3 coating provides the highest disintegration obstruction across the board. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
