The article explores how ceramist artist Ibrahim Said explores hidden beauty and universal meaning through his Egyptian and Islamic art works. Topics discussed include Said's creation of "On the Bank of the Nile" work for The Clay Studio's exhibit "Making Place Matter," in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his carvings on a variety of vases inspired by water jug artifacts in Fustat, Egypt between 900 and 1200, and his risk-taking approach as a commercial potter. |
