A recent study conducted by researchers at Wenzhou Medical University in China explores the modulation of glucose metabolism for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. The study focuses on the use of macrophage-membrane-coated metal-organic framework nanoparticles to deliver inhibitors of key enzymes involved in glucose metabolism. The nanoparticles were found to disrupt the tumor's energy provisioning framework and perturb the tumor's redox state, ultimately sensitizing the tumor to treatment and impeding its metastatic trajectory. This research provides a potential paradigm for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer through the manipulation of glucose metabolism. [Extracted from the article] |
