Abstrakt: A recent report from Inje University College of Medicine in South Korea discusses a case of osteonecrosis of the humeral head following arthroscopic capsular release (ACR) for postoperative shoulder joint stiffness. The patient, a 56-year-old male with a history of hypertension, chronic hepatitis B infection, and alcohol consumption, initially experienced improved range of motion and functional outcomes after ACR. However, 15 months post-operation, the patient experienced a recurrence of shoulder pain and was diagnosed with humeral head osteonecrosis. The report suggests that patients with risk factors related to humeral head circulation disturbance should be monitored for this complication after ACR. [Extracted from the article]
