Abstrakt: | A patent application has been submitted for a portable air filter that can disinfect the air from pathogens, including viruses like SARS-CoV-2. The invention combines a heat-resistant filtering stage with high-heat stages of air purification to destroy pathogens suspended in the air. The filter uses heated open-cell foam and can be used in a normal-sized room. It aims to provide effective air disinfection without excessive warming of the air and requires a small amount of energy. The filter includes multiple layers of foam and a HEPA filter for additional filtration. The inventors claim that the filter can achieve at least a 98% disinfection rate of airborne pathogens after one pass through the filter. [Extracted from the article] |
