Abstrakt: A study conducted by the University of Johannesburg explores the experiences of allopathic medicine practitioners (AMPs) regarding the non-disclosure of traditional medicine (TM) use in Gauteng province. The research found that patients often do not disclose their TM use due to fear of judgment and stigmatization by AMPs. The study emphasizes the importance of establishing good communication between AMPs and patients to facilitate the disclosure of TM use and provide patient-centered care. The research highlights the cultural and ethnic reasons behind TM use and suggests that AMPs should not disregard these beliefs. [Extracted from the article]
