A study conducted by Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University in Turkey examined the immediate effects of simulating leg-length discrepancy (LLD) on spinal posture and pelvic position in elite karate athletes. The researchers used rasterstereography, a non-invasive method, to measure various parameters at different artificial LLD heights. The study found that even a 5-mm LLD caused changes in pelvic position and spinal posture. The researchers suggest that further studies using rasterstereography could help prevent musculoskeletal disorders in populations with LLD. [Extracted from the article] |
