A recent study conducted in Winston Salem, North Carolina, examined the patient experience with tumor boards, which are multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases. The study found that the majority of patients were satisfied when their case was discussed at the tumor board and felt more confident in their treatment plan as a result. However, some patients reported experiencing anxiety knowing their case was being discussed. Additionally, many patients expressed a desire to be present for their own tumor board discussions. This study provides insight into the patient perspective on tumor board discussions and highlights the importance of involving patients in their own care. [Extracted from the article] |
