Analytical and numerical modeling of FRP two-way reinforced concrete slabs.

Abstrakt: This study seeks to ascertain the effects of use of FRP bars in reinforce the concrete structures especially (two-way slabs) instead of steel reinforce bars and shows the effect of the FRP bar in improvement the properties of reinforced concrete such as durability and stiffness, also makes comparison between them. three models were used in this study (steel model, GFRP model and CFRP model). By use of FEM and ANSYS packages version 16.2 find load deflection curves on the other hand the calculation of ultimate loads for each model by ACI 318, EN 1992-1-1 and IS 456, code equations conduct. During this study three trails on compressive strength, reinforcement ratio and thickness of slabs for each model were done. All results that appeared were compared with a reference value. The results showed a notable increase in punching shear capacity and decrease in deflection when compressive strength for concrete and proportions of reinforcement also thickness for all models were increase and vice versa.
