Abstrakt: Like many other developing countries, Nigeria is grappling with the challenges of meeting the growing demand for food, ensuring food security, and improving its population's nutrition and health. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are targeted to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and eradicate poverty by 2030, requires transforming the local food system to be sustainable, equitable, and resilient. The task of transforming the food systems in Nigeria is complex and multifaceted and requires the collective efforts of stakeholders across the food supply chain. This paper reviews the current state of the food systems in Nigeria, identifies the significant challenges facing the sector, and proposes pathways for transforming the local food systems in Nigeria.
