Abstrakt: Corruption is a phenomenon as old as human history. In general, the tendency for corruption increases in countries where social, cultural, economic and bureaucratic institutions are weak. Empirical studies have been identified various detrimental effects of public sector corruption on the economic, political and social performance of countries. The relationship between corruption and deaths due to major earthquakes is remarkable. Moreover, corruption negatively affects the management of pre-disaster measures, what to do during the disaster, and post-disaster processes. In this study, the relationship between corruption and natural disasters was tried to be revealed. In this study, the relationship between corruption and natural disasters was tried to be revealed. In the light of the literature, it has been determined that, on the one hand, corruption increases the loss of life as a result of natural disasters, on the other hand, natural disasters also increase corruption, and strategies to combat corruption in natural disasters have been developed.
