Abstrakt: Pancreatic cysts, particularly intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs), are common and can potentially develop into pancreatic malignancy. Current guidelines recommend surveillance or resection based on imaging findings suggestive of malignancy. However, there are cases where benign IPMNs present with imaging findings that suggest malignancy, leading to unnecessary surgeries. A study published in European Radiology compared the diagnostic performance of a CT radiomics model with the international consensus guideline for predicting malignant IPMN. The CT radiomics model demonstrated superior predictive ability, suggesting it could be a valuable tool in avoiding unnecessary surgeries. However, further studies are needed to validate the model.
