A recent study conducted by researchers at the Military Medicine Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, focused on the rare occurrence of sporadic multiple cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). The researchers analyzed 48 studies from the PubMed database, which included a total of 80 cases of sporadic multiple cerebral AVMs. The study found that the average incidence of these malformations was 2.4%, with variations between children and adults. The researchers concluded that the persistence of multiple brain AVMs should be considered when diagnosing and monitoring patients. [Extracted from the article] |
